I have a 20 yr old inglis dishwasher that I am 99% sure has a p[lugged impeller (everything works \ all cycles \ low washing pressure).

I have removed the pump \ impeller cover and when I try to remove the top bolt it seems like the pump shaft is freely turning with the bolt.

Is there a trick to this as I can't see where I would stop the shaft from turning. Even though it is an old dishwasher, I don't want to throw it away if it just needs cleaning or inexpensive part that can easily be replaced.

I have attached a photo of what it looks like.
