I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher that the soap dispenser stopped working on. I opened it up to see that the unit had melted. I ordered a new one and replaced it but still no luck. I double checked all connections, unplugged the control board to "reboot it" and still no luck. My patience is wearing thin on this 7 year old unit. other than that, all functions seem to work. it is a nice unit, all stainless and quiet. any help would be appreciated

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for Whirlpool KUDL40CVSS0 UNDERCOUNTER DISHWASHER | AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

I would check the dispenser's wax motor with a meter.
You can never tell you may have received a defective replacement.

If OK then odds are that the control board is shot.
