Default Fault lights, blink or steady ???
Model Number: SHU33A06UC/40   Brand: Bosch   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

It must be no one knows the answer, but what I really need to know from anyone that knows is which is the fault (error) light the Steady on or Blinking?

Thank you for any help you can give me, I'm glad there is a site like yours.

1) When running initial "test program" (pressing the Power Scrub and the Rinse & Hold buttons and then Start button) I get Regular Wash light displaying steady and Rinse & Hold blinking. Which is the fault (error) light steady or blinking ???

2) Then when pressed a second time (Power Scrub and Rinse & Hold buttons) BOTH Power Scrub and Regular Wash light are displayed blinking and Rinse & Hold has NO light displayed.
Thanks Rudy

What was the original problem with your dishwasher?

Gene.

I have no experience with Blogs or question and answer site, hope I do it correctly. The natives are restless, if I cannot fix it SOON we will have to buy a new one and hope it last longer than 5.5 years, more like our old GE 17 clean but noise filled years. Thanks Rudy

-The dishes suddenly stopped getting clean, remaining food trace, white film and grit left behind and on SS cabinet walls soap dispenser.
-I cleaned all spray ports and hose connections, turned the hot water heater up to 140, tried two other detergents, plus 'Finish' brand product and even ran several application of TSP on Regular wash and Pot Scrub cycles. NO CHANGE.
-Then I ran the Test program and had the REG WASH light burn steady and the RINSE & DRY light blinking.
-I read every Bosch Q&A and guessed it must be the Heating unit since Bosch recall had replaced the Controller but I remove and saw no burnt solder joints.
-I R&R the Heater with a new one, and the lights are the same Steady Wash & Blinking Pot.

Did you check the water level inside the dishwasher during the wash cycle? You can just open the door in the middle of the cycle and look inside. You also can see if the dishes inside are wet enough.

Do it and post the results.

What is the part number of the heater you installed?

Gene.

Thanks Gene, Yes there was plenty of water spraying and in the bottom of the machine.
The heater P/N is 480317. Every electrical connection was a perfect match to the old one and the schematic, unplug and plug in, press the 'O' rings home, clamp it and 2 screws. The flashing and constant lights is what is really confusing, which one indicates an error?
No one seems to list the real P/Ns including Bosch. Even the SHU33A06 UC/40 on my door is only found as SHU33A06 UC/14 so I really do not know if it is correct.

Yes, the dishes are wet. Does anyone know which of the two lights flashing or steady indicates the error or fault or failure after the test cycle is run? I think that is what will tell me what part failed and needs replacing. THX
