Ike is on a distinguished road
Default Ike
Model Number: TD 5500   Brand: Thermador   Age: More than 10 years

I have a Thermador dishwasher TD 5500 that is 17 years old. Some parts are not available from Thermador anymore.

When the wash cycles begin, there are 2 leaks separate leaks coming from the front left inside side of the door, about 6" in from the left. The first is at the beginning of the first wash cycle, it is about 2 ounces and is sudsy; the second is at the beginning of the next wash/water cycle, it is about 6 ounces and is sudsy. The leak is below the Jet-Dry liquid container area. I have looked and felt at the inside of the door (where the door meets the tub) and there seems to be an area of about 5-6 inches where there is no gasket, or else it is pushed under and crushed causing this leak.

What should I do? Should I unscrew the screws on the inside of the door and remove the panel and try and reposition the gasket or will this be a problem reassembling the soap and Jet Dry dispensers? Can I put kitchen and bath 100% silicone at thisd area to stop the leak?

Please, your suggestions.

Thanks.
