Default Kenmore Elite Door noise
Model Number: 665.16293402   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 1 - 5 years

The dishwasher had been sitting for a year while we moved houses...Once install anytime you open or close the door it makes a terrible noise. It may be the hinges or the spring, its very hard to tell. WD40'd the hinges but it didnt silence it a bit which tends me to beleive its the spring. For the money I spent on this thing it should quiet as a mouse. Any ideas would be appreciated....and yes its level, Thanks

I would recommend to replace the door balance links, the door balance wheels and the door balance mounts on both sides of the dishwasher door.

- The part number for the set of two links is AP3775412

Good luck.
Gene.

I have had a Kitchen Aid dishwasher for about 7 years and am replacing my 3rd set of links this week. Always order extras! They have broken on both sides, and it seems to be a design issue. At least they could try to make the repair kit a bit more robust.
