Default Dishwasher Problems
Model Number: FDB989GFC2   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 5 - 10 years

When turning the dishwasher on, it seems to fill with water, but not completely full and is leaking out the drain hose the whole time. I am wondering what the problem is... the water valve, the motor pump, or drain pump. The drain seems to make noise, but when you cancel it drains all the water. I tried to turn the motor and it turns. When it begins to clean it doesn't pump the water to the top. I am thinking it's the motor pump, but maybe because there is never enough water in the tub it won't run. Anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks

The water level should be just below the heating element.
Check your drain hose to make sure at some point it is higher then the water level in the tube.

I don't beleive it is.. how can I check the drain hose ? I hear the water draining all the time and when I open it, it's pretty empty.. If there is not enough water will the pump still push water to the top rack ? Thanks for the help,,,
