help! My dish washer quit last week and i dont like washing by hand. :(

It does nothing at all. The normal and rinse cycle lights are flashing and -- is in the statues window. I tryed unplugging to reset but the same thing comes up (flashing lights) when i plug it back in.
Thanks in advance for any insite
