Hello all, first post.

I have a Jenn-Air JDB2100AWS dishwashing machine that came installed professionally in my house. It has worked great for the past five years, but recently something is happening that is driving me up the wall (well, it's driving my wife up the wall, and apparently the transitive property applies).

There is a sediment being left on upside-down glasses on the top rack. I can't identify it, it is brown in color and appears granular, though the heated dry cycle of the washer molds it firmly into place, so it is not flaky. I end up scrubbing it with a brush. It is especially prominent in my 7" tall water glasses and always very deep in the glass.

Keep in mind that this is not residue; most of the glasses have no food waste on them at all, but the sediment appears very regularly in almost all glasses and stemware, regardless of position on the top rack.

I have never cleaned out my drain gate, because when I read the manual, this process is never described. Some of the vents have food waste in them; could that be causing the problem? Or is it something else? Can I remove and clean the top spinning arm?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that it definitely isn't detergent, I switched from Cascade Dry to Finish Powerballs and noticed no difference. I also have always used Jet-Dry rinse agent. I use a Dishwasher Magic cleaning treatment once a month.
