GE dishwasher

Model Number: gsc3400j00w Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years

repair man said was timer switch was defective as cycle stuck on "plate warmer" and would not shut off, time switch got harder and harder to turn. ordered replacement switch from AppliancePartsPros. would there possible be another defective that would contribute to this dishwasher problem?
