Model Number: SMU4056 Brand: Bosch Age: More than 10 years
Hello all,
I am hoping I may get some direction on how to proceed. I have a Bosch SMU4056; and until recently, it has been a great performer. The washer was working great and then one day it just stopped in the middle of the wash cycle. If I cycle through the different cycles it does nothing. There is no sound, no pump noise. Nothing. I used a shopvac to get the water out of the unit. I am not sure how to proceed to troubleshoot the unit. I have not been able to find much of anything on the internet for test procedures. Any direction and help woul dbe greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Randy Related Models |

Hi Randy,
The first thing I would do is check for 120 VAC to the dishwasher. Remove the toe panel and check the power cord connection to the dishwasher for burned wires and/or lose connections. Remove the outer door panel and check all wires inside the door. Check the "on-off" and the door switches. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for BOSCH SMU4056 UC/09 (FD 7307-7902) | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

I checked the incoming line and the power coming is 110v; so that is good.
I checked the voltage at the lines coming in to the Selector Switch Assembly and the voltage is still good. From there, I am not too sure what voltages should be - and where. The odd thing, and I don't know if this is norl - I cannot remember - is that then the door is opened and the on/off switch is depressed the light comes on (for behind the on/off switch) but once the door is closed - the light goes out. Very odd. I noticed that the motor for the timer unit is not turning. From what I can gather it is not getting power (?) I did not get a chance to yank the unit out from under the counter top. That will be tomorrow. The I guess I can check the other components. |
