It seems my previous post didn't find much of a reply so I am re-posting in faith someone can answer and solve my dilemma. I've searched and read some of the other posts, but most are older and failed to solve my search for an understandable answer that I could grasp the concept of. I "was" able to find helpful manuals and details for the dishwasher's components but need some more input please.
I was given a free dishwasher (model number RUD4000MU2) in good shape and told it worked prior to my receiving it. After a struggle of finding the right parts to install it, and putting it in, the timer cycles, it sounds like there is real good pressure and spray although the spray arm doesn't seem to rotate and also it heats up well, but there is always 2-3" of dirty water left in the dishwasher at the end of the cycle and again the other problem that it doesn't seem that the washer arm is rotating. The dishwasher doesn't drain in other words, and I have double checked to make sure that the drain hose isn't crimped or bent/pinched. It is a good heavy drain hose and so it wouldn't be collapsing when it heats up. There is only about 6" in elevation from dishwasher drain port to plumbing drain port.
Can someone please help me troubleshoot and repair the problem? Being that it is a new install, the hose and drain are of course free of debris and clogs.
Is there a way to make sure that the pump is free of any residue?
How can I check to make sure the pump is working?
What are the normal tests for this type of troubleshooting scenario?
Thank you in advance for all help to be given.
