Default Quiet 300 not completing cycle
Model Number: mdb7600aws   Brand: Maytag   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
My dishwasher and it is not completing the wash cycle. It seems to get to a certain point, stops and tries to restart two or three times and then shuts down. I have gone through the drain system and everything looks clean. Does anybody have an idea about what might be going on. I would prefer to fix it rather than replace it.

Sounds like the problem is somewhere inside the pump. It could be a foreign object, a broken impeller or a broken chopper. Use the Service manual for disassembly and troubleshooting instructions.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for MAYTAG MDB7600AWS | AppliancePartsPros.com

You may want to do more diagnosis.

Does it always do it at the same point in the wash?
Have you tried different cycle types? Ones that do not heat the water and/or do not use the turbidity sensor.
What if any lights are on when it hangs up?

If you cannot find your tech sheet we should be able to supply one for you.
It has diagnostic routines.

If it always hangs at the same point, it could be the unit is waiting for an input, does not get it and shuts down after a number of tries.

Thanks for responding. It does not always stop at the same spot, but usually does around 67 on the display. The last time it got to 67 it tried to start three times, by which time it was to 66. It drained and then when it started to wash again it shut down at 63. The lights went right out, without trying to restart at all. I have not tried all the cycles but will. I have gone through the bottom of the machine. The impellar and chopper look good. Also if I am to restart the machine immediately, it shuts down much sooner than if I run it after it has been off for a long period of time. Where can I find the tech sheet online? Thanks again for replying.

Looks like the problem could be a bad motor. I would measure the current drawn by the motor. According to the tech sheets it suppose to be about 3.2 amps. If it's more then the motor has gone bad.

I think you are right about the motor. I just ran the field service check and it came back as motor low current. I happen to have a motor for this machine so I will replace it and let you know if that solves the problem.

Replacing the motor requires a new seal kit to prevent possible water leak.

- The part number for the seal kit is AP4365097

ok guys, I have waited a few days and have heard nothing new. Wifey is getting real impatient with me. screaming for new machine. I am thinking she is probably right. no reason to throw more money @ this thing. I am thinking a new mother board @ $130 should just be put toward new machine.

Sorry for the delay. This situation is very unclear and it's pretty hard to diagnose it remotely. Your decision is probably the best in such case. At least your wife should be very happy , especially if she will get a Bosch machine.
