I ordered a new middle spray arm (675808) to replace one that broke. I also ordered the mount (8539324) which replaces part AP2920737. The new mount does not fit properly onto the upper rack. It is about 1/2 inch to wide. Also the screw that connects the spray arm to the mount does not fit properly. Any help would be appreciated.

The mounting bracket has been redesigned by Whirlpool. If the old one consists of two parts and screw, the new bracket is a single part only.

Hook up the one side of the mounting bracket (the top on the above picture) to the dish rack and push the other side up until it locks up.

OK. What confused me is that there are only a few wires on the top rack where it will fit. It must go about in the middle of the rack. The part on top of the picture goes toward the front of the dishwasher, right? Also, the screw doesn't seem to screw the spray arm into the mount. Do you need to force it? Also, what are those two clock-like symbols on the spray arm?
Thanks for your help,
Martha

Hi Martha,

You are absolutely right. The mounting bracket goes in the middle of the dish rack and those two hooks should face toward the dishwasher door. The screw, I believe, is a self-threading and you have to force it. Those symbols are probably a type of a manufacturer logo.
