I've got a Kenmore full-size portable dishwasher (model 665.17669400) that I bought used about 1 year ago and it has been working fine up until recently when we noticed the dishes were wet when the cycle was done. So during the drying cycle of a subsequent run, I opened the door to feel the heating element. Not hot at all ...not even warm. I assumed the element was bad so I ordered a brand new element from Sears Parts Direct and installed it only to find out that the new one is also not heating. I then used a multimeter to check the ohms of the connectors to the heating element and got an "OL" reading (which I assumed I would see since the new element was not getting hot). I then tried to trouble shoot the problem and came up empty handed. I was thinking maybe a bad thermal fuse but I could not find one at all and also assumed that if the thermal fuse was bad (if there is one), the entire dishwasher would likely be non-functioning. Anyone have a clue what the problem is here or what I can check next? Every connection was in place and nothing appeared to be frayed/burnt/disconnected. Also, everything else about the dishwasher works fine. Just no heat from the element. Since it's a portable, the hot water from the sink is getting the dishes clean.
Thanks!
Steve
