Default Upper level does not get washed - sandy residue on glasses, etc
Model Number: 363.1434595   Brand: Kenmore   Age: More than 10 years

Problem is getting worse - we tried running empty w/vinegar, running hot water at tap before starting, using pots & pans cycle - nothing helped. There does not seem to be a blockage anywhere but anything on the top level remains dirty and splattered with sandy residue. Any suggestions?

The first thing I would check is the water level inside the dishwasher.

Normally it suppose to be about 1/2" above the floor in the middle of the dishwasher (around the spray arm support).

If there is not enough water, then the water inlet valve has to be replaced.

If there is nothing wrong, check the pop up tower (center spray arm) for any damages.

- The part number for the water inlet valve is AP2039339

- The part number for the center spray arm is AP2039812

The center spray arm

Good luck.
Gene.
