dishwasher makes a loud howling noise that progressively is getting louder. washer works fine but noise is getting worse.

Can you help guide me through how to access the motor? I have a similar problem - loud howling noise - disassembled everything I could from the inside and cleaned it all out, but still making almost a grinding noise, so I'm not sure what else to check out.

How do I get to chopper? I am having the same noise problem on our Whirlpool GU1200XTLB0

That worked and I found what shaft holding the chopper and screen was broken. Can you tell me what part that would be for my whirlpool GU1200XTLB0?

I've followed the steps of removal but can't get the inlet protector removed... Help!!!

Disregard, got it. I ended up using a Paint can opener tool to snag under the edge near the screw and it finally popped up!
