When the dishwasher starts, it sounds like the motor is trying to start. My first instinct is maybe a capacitor is bad? When I play with the cycle control, turning it past the cycle and to start again, it will start after a few tries around the dial. Anything else I should be looking for? The problem just started.

Here are the parts for a Z01WW, could not find any info on a S01WW

Since fiddling with the dial gets the unit going I would think that it is the timer causing the problem. Probably dirty contacts.

Can I remove the panel and clean it with contact cleaner?

You could try but odds of success are low due to the grease usually used on the cams.
Also hard to get the solvent to evaporate quickly so you have to leave it dry for a couple hours.
