Default Whirlpool won't cycle, diagnostics work
Model Number: GU1200XTKB0   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

At first the only thing it would do is Cancel/Drain. That stopped. Then if I pressed AirDry (or Control lock) with Quick Wash it would go into cancel drain. Everything sounded normal. Then I discovered this site. I did the diagnostics sequence and pressed pots/pans and the sequences operated, but curiously with the Crystal light always on or blinking. After it stopped the crystal indicator light went off. I opened the door and reclosed it and none of the normal buttons work. Did the diagnostics again. Same result.
Of note, not all the indicator lights came on and off during the diagnostics,
just washing, soaking, and drying.

Any clues would help. I suspect a bad keyboard. What procedures needed to check that? Broken ribbon check method?
