Default Lower Door Seal Installation
Model Number: SHU6806UC/U12   Brand: Bosch   Age: 5 - 10 years

The additional model info is: FD 8012 06 0243. I have leaking, left side lower, on door. I ordered part - AP3194023 (432490) Door seal, lower - today. Have done this before but could not figure out how the bloody thing is installed. My original was different, did not have the plastic side mounts that hold the metal edge of the seal. I had the one I'm replacing press fit to the bottom tub (rubber side of seal) and the metal just laying on the tub floor. Worked well until our nasty water did its work on the rubber.

Any help on the installation of this item? Thanks

Unfortunately this is beyond my expertise.

Maybe somebody else on the forum can help you better.

Gene.

Default Update

I was digging in the garage today and found a new lower door seal. My little island here has no service or support so I guess I thought ahead and bought two the last time. And then forgot. Ain't easy getting old.

Anyway, I installed it. Still could not find a use for the little plastic end clips but the installation is very slick. Excellent seal, I added 4 cups extra water and no leak. NO disassembly was required; did it all through the open door.

If interested, I can elaborate ....

Doug

those plastic clips secure each side of the seal to the door via either hinge... Don't necessarily need them (dont let uncle Bosch know i said that ...) ( i always put them on, once you know where they go, it's not worth not putting them on .. )

I would really appreciate it if you could elaborate DougB because I've got the same problem and I still can't figure out how to get the old seal off and the new seal on.

I did find out, from experience, that you don't want to loosen all four of the screws holding the door to the hinges without somebody else helping you ... even then you probably still don't want to.
