Dishwasher runs but will not fill for the wash cycle. If I pour in water an drun it works htrough the entire cycle.

If I let it go it will go thru the cycle and fill during the rinse cycle.

I'm thinking I need a new timer?

Any help apprecaited.

The best way to check is with a meter.
Make sure the overfill switch is not activated (float is down, switch is closed)
Check to see if the unit is getting power (120 volts) when it should be filling at the beginning of the wash.
If not then the timer would be the #1 suspect.

Thanks for your reply, If I could impose further - If the rinse cycle (it fills and empties) is working could the float be stuck down?

I hate to ask ... where do I find the float (I suspect the bottom of the dishwasher inside the tub ..... center? under some "grill")

Left hand side front in the tub. Item 305 in the "Body parts" section.

Note that it must be stuck in the up position to stop power to the water valve. The switch is behind the kick plate.
This is a long shot as a possible cause for your problem.
