The unit is not fully sealing on the top part of the door and steam comes out and accumulates on top of the door and then leaks down the side onto the floor. The seal looks to be good but what appears to be happening is the latch plate screwed to the top of the dishwasher is not far enough back to cause the door to stay closed tight all the way, engaging the seal fully along the top edge of the door, against the "rib" that runs around the entire door. Can I unscrew the latch plate from the top of the dishwasher and re-set it a little farther back? If not what can I do - I don't think replacing the seal will change the amount of engagement the door has without moving the latch in the door or the corresponding latch plate.

Are you thinking about moving the latch assembly or the door strike? I actually would get a professional technician out to look at the door and it's frame. The door gasket may not be your concern, but I am wondering why this is happening now and not before? Have you ever moved or had the unit worked on, or worked on it yourself? The frame may be warped somehow, or you may just have something obstructing it.

I am thinking to just move the strike plate. The unit was in the house when we bought it about three months ago. I noticed it leaking a few weeks back - probably has leaked since we moved in. I have not moved the dishwasher since we moved in and the only thing I have done is put a screw in the top left tab bracket - the one that screws to the underside of the countertop. The right side "tab" had a screw in it - the left did not. I do not see any obstruction but the engagement of the seal is much greater at the bottom of the door - you can see where the "groove" from the rib on the door has set much farther in at the bottom of the seal and there is virtually no impression "track" at the top of the seal.
