This Hotpoint dishwasher has been unplugged for several months in a vacant house in Colorado where the heat has been off throughout the winter. We just got the heat on and then turned on the water and, even when the dishwasher is in "Off" condition, water flows into it and does not drain nor stop flowing. If we turn the dishwasher "on", it goes through it's normal cycle but then again the water stays on. Most solenoid valves fail in the closed position (no water) so I don't know what it is?? Any ideas?
Thanks, Gary

Gary,

Looks like the water inlet valve stuck in the open position. If you need the correct part number for the water valve then post the complete model number of the dishwasher. You can find it on the door frame. It should start with "HDA".

Gene.
