Default Residual Water remaining after Cycle is complete
Model Number: GSD2200Z04WH   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
Water remain at the bottom of dishwasher after cycle is complete. I did replace the drain solenoid control arm as a O ring was leaking. The leak stopped, but the arm has more resistance now that before. Could this resistance cause a delay in draining as the valve is not completely open, or open long enough to completely drain. Help!
What about the drain pump?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Could this resistance cause a delay in draining as the valve is not completely open, or open long enough to completely drain.
I do not think so. The way the drain works is that the wash/drain solenoid is activated for a couple seconds. The flapper valve is then moved to the drain position and the water pressure holds it there until the unit is empty.
If these solenoids are activated more than a couple seconds they will overheat.
Check that the solenoid plunger is pulled all the way down and stays there during the drain cycle.
Remove the wash arms so you can see the flapper valve and then manually activate the wash/drain solenoid to be sure it is closing all the way during drain.
Check the drain hose for any blockage. A common spot is where it is attached to the house plumbing.

It is a little late but for future reference. It is a good idea to lightly coat any plumbing seal/Oring etc with white lithium grease or plumbing grease before installing it.

What about the drain pump?

The unit uses the main pump for both wash and drain at least that is what the parts breakdown shows.

Default this is how i fixed my dishwasher that wouldn't drain fully

I had the same problem. The dishwasher would run, and at theend of the cycle there was water still inside the machine. I'm not an applianceexpert, but I just went through some troubleshooting.

Turn the power off, pull the unit out, and disconnect allthe hoses. Get some towels because waterwill start leaking out of the bottom. Inmy case, I removed all the hoses, including the one that connected to thedisposal. I blew through the ends ofeach hose, and right away I found one hose that was obstructed .This stuffbuilds up over time, almost like someone's artery, and once clogged, your bestbet is to throw it out, and get a new hose. Its a cheap solution, and isusually the cause.

Your problem sounds identical to mine...so see if my videohelps, cause I've gotten feedback from others who found it useful.

Goodluck!
