Can't install the Cover Inlet

Can't install the Cover Inlet

Model Number: PDW928ONOOSS Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years

My dishes were not getting cleaned properly so I removed the Cover Inlet - (Part # 506) to the drain. I have now damaged the part trying to put it back in place. I removed the lower spray arm but now there is a tube in the way and I can't insert the cover inlet to the way it was before. I will have to order a new Cover Inlet but I would REALLY like to know how to put it in before I damage another one. Does anyone know how to do this?
