Model Number: 022 13343991 Brand: Kenmore Age: Less than 1 year
I just purchased a new Kenmore Elite 2 drawer dishwasher and had it installed 3 days ago. I programmed the unit to run a “normal Wash”. The dishwasher ran for over 4 hours before I canceled the operation. Thinking I had used the wrong setting, I washed another “normal wash” cycle last night. Again, the dishwasher ran for 4 1/2 hours before I cancelled the cycle for the second time. The dishes were not dry when I opened the drawers. The manual states 57 min to a max of 95 minutes to complete this normal wash cycle.
Any ideas as to why the dishwasher is running so long? Ads By Google Related Models |

Here is a service manual, Unit looks a close match to yours but I do not guarantee it is the same.
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Servic...LE/4317427.pdf Often extra long cycle times are due to the unit trying to heat up the water. Check that the incoming water temp is at least 120 degrees F. Run the hot tap that is closest to the dishwasher when hot, fill a glass and measure it. A candy or meat thermometer should do for this. In some instances where the water takes a long time running to get hot you have to run the rap before starting the dishwasher. Insulating the pipes can help if this is the case. If OK I would remove the kick plate and check that a wire has not come off If OK Place a service call, if you start taking it apart you could void your warranty.

I checked the water temperature and found it to be only 110 degrees. I thought sure you had pointed me in the right direction. I turned my water heater up and got the water temp up to 130 degrees. Ran the tap to make sure it was hot and started a normal wash cycle. 4 hours later I canceled the cycle. I have a service guy coming Tuesday. Thanks again. |
