Whirlpool Quiet Partner III

Dish washer will go through entire washing cycle but will not clean dishes. There is a medium to loud humming sound when the washing part of the cycle should be happening. There is water entering and leaving the dishwasher during the cycle. Every thing about the cycle works except for the spraying of water, I think.
I am assuming that a motor or pump is not working. Any ideas what this might be and is it repairable by a homeowner (myself)? How would I know what parts to get?

My dishwasher does the same thing and it shuts down early for some reason. I have done the reset thing but it doesn't seem to help.
The water doesn't seem as hot either, so Im not sure what to do.
