Default Bosch which part/parts?
Model Number: shu5302 u12   Brand: Bosch   Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi, I have a Bosch shu5302 u12. I saw a lot of discussion regarding the control module problems with Bosch on several forums and it seems similar to my problem. Every one of the modes says it will take 2 hours to complete. In addition, the heater doesn't seem to work. Now that I have the machine apart (the circulation pump froze and I couldn't get it to spin without taking it off and manually forcing it, but now it is spinning away) I want to solve all problems. Well, what I wonder is that it seems from what I read here-- and on other sites-- the control module could cause the heater to not work. Is that correct? Should I error on the side of caution and purchase both? Thanks in advance for your help.

Default more info

I just took off the control panel and guess what, I do have a burned solder joint. Of course, don't know if that relates to the time being stuck on 2 hr for all cycles, or if it is for the heater, that recently stopped working. BTW, although this is just over 5 years, it was only used about once every other week and maybe not even that much--could understand if more were failing if I actually used it.

Default Never mind

I decided to take a chance and get the control module that was available locally and ran the self-test and this time all came up ok, so I ran a load and everything is working great, so glad people mentioned that the heater not working could be caused by the control panel and that if there was some burned solder joints it might cause the heater to not work.
