dishwasher door has gotten heavier with time
Model Number: KUDIO 1FLSS6 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 1 - 5 years
People,
Noticed over say, a few days, as I opened the dishwasher door, it got heavier and heavier as one brings it "down" to the horizontal position. My initial guess: springs? Hydraulics? Not sure why a door would aquire weight. Still works fine- just puzzled on this quirk... Thanks!! Ads By Google Related Models

I had a dishwasher door getting heavy and found that water was entering the door through the soap dispenser locking mechanism. The insulation was pretty soaked but I left the door inside cover off and it dried out. Had to replace the small gasket in this mechanism.
