Unhappy Short or skipping cycles
Model Number: KUDS24SEBL2   Brand: Kitchen Aid   Age: 5 - 10 years

Long story - at first dishwasher would run through first 2 cycles, then was supposed to drain & refill but did neither. It continued to wash, but then would not drain. Noticed very slight odor probably coming from underneath, possibly of overheated wire insulation, but odor not like any similar over-heated wire odor I had ever smelled before. Keypad diagnostic tests all seem to show OK. Once I thought I had it fixed - loaded with dishes, started up. Went about 5 miniutes and stopped. Gave up - went to bed. Next morning discovered it had apparently run through all cycles, dishes were clean and dry.

Replaced circuit board. No change.

Continued to try various things - no joy. Now at startup, motor will only run 4-5 seconds, then stop. Wait 5 minutes and it runs another 3-5 seconds. Also getting more of the very subtle (overheating?) odor from underneath.

All resistance measurements of motor are OK (or were when I checked them at first.)

Anyway - what to do??? Sorry about the length of this post. Would really appreciate any suggestions -
Thx much
Dave
