 I have a whirlpool dishwasher that has blown 2 thermal fuses. What do i need to check to help me determine the cause. It lasted about one week after I replaced it the first time. I found that there was a loose connector on the thermal fuse, could that have caused it to blow?

Yes. A loose connection can cause arcing, which can definitely cause a fuse to open.
