Model Number: SE24207 Brand: -other- Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a Siemens dishwasher SE24207GB/03. It looks like a Bosch, so I guess there is a Bosch equivalent number which I could use to access the forum as Siemens isn't listed. It is pretty basic: front panel has single push switch on/off and rotary mechanical knob with 3 programmes.
The problem is that it blows the rcd circuit breaker in the house (not the fuse breaker). So I am assuming there is a fault to earth/ground with either the wiring or a component. It started a few times OK then blew after 30 secs. Now it blows immediately. I haven't used it for a while, and discovered that there was an inlet hose leak which had allowed some water to build up in the base. But I don't think that any of the electrical stuff got wet. Before I start ripping it apart and testing everything with a meter (in the certain knowledge that it will be the last component I test which will be faulty) I wondered if there was anywhere I should look first. First place to check is the electric connection. It will be protected by a metal box, whose lid is usually secured with one screw (normally 1/4 inch hex drive).I have seen a LOT of installers merely wire-nut the wires together. They should be as securely twisted together as you can get them, wire-nutted, and then taped, so no movement can pull a wire free.
