Hi Again Gene,
I've done a bit of work on this and found out several things. Appliance Parts Pro doesn't have a diagram for it so I called Bosch and was able to find out that the soap dispenser unit is part no. 431413. They guy who gave me that number said that the problem could also be with the rinsing agent trip switch, part no. 182134 which actually comes with the soap dispenser unit but is much cheaper. Do you have any idea which one it could be?
Thanks again,
John

John,

There is no way to test this trip switch (aka an optical sensor) but you can try to replace it first. You can see this part on the picture attached to this reply.

- The Appliance Parts Pros part number for the trip switch is AP3196211

- The part number for the dispenser is AP2834000

Hi Gene,
I just want to make sure about this. The problem I'm having is with the soap door not opening. Why do you think the Bosch guy would recommend replacing the Rinse-aid level sensor? Just by the name of this part, it seems like it is for the rinse aid dispenser - not the soap dispenser. Does it also function as something that opens the soap dispenser door?
John

I believe the whole dispenser has to be replaced, but you spoke with the manufacturer tech support and I can not argue with them.

Actually I didn't speak to Bosch tech support. They said that talking to a tech support guy was not an option for me. I spoke with a guy who looked at a diagram and took orders for parts. He said that if I needed more information, I had to call a Bosch repairman to diagnose the problem.

John,

I would replace the dispenser. Most likely it should solve the problem.
