dishwasher "lock on" light on

Model Number: 15779990 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years

We loaded dishwasher and shut door to operate and " lock on" light came on and would flash when we touched other buttons on control panel. Also cut off power and restarted but had no effect.
