The dishwasher handle has broken in the locked position. How can I get the door open?

I did find a fix but not sure if there is another way. I drilled a 7/16 inch hole that lined up with the latch in the front cover. By doing this was able to push a screw driver to the latch arm to unlock the door. It turns out the lever shaft roll pin had worked it's way out. This let the lever move but not the latch hook. A simple fix after getting there. With the door locked it was like a safe without the combination. What a deal!
