Trying again, since no one has answered my previous posts: My GE GSD4030Y70WW dishwasher has suddenly begun stalling mid-wash. If I do not advane the timer myself, it will run forever, it seems. I have done the following: Replaced the timer: no change. Tested the water temperature: 135-140 degrees. Checked all wiring harnesses and fittings. Still does the same thing. Where is the sensor/thermocouple/thermostat in this dishwasher that would send a low temp signal to the timer to tell it to stop? I don't see it in the parts diagrams. What should I replace next? Help!

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for General Electric GSD4030Y70WW Dishwasher | AppliancePartsPros.com

This is an old unit and I do not believe it has any type of temperature feedback. It does not even have a hi-limit thermostat.

Here is a manual for older GE,s though it does not actually list your unit.
31-3280 Clean Design Electro-Mechanical GE Dishwasher Service Manual - ApplianceDigest.com
You have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer.

I only include so you can check if your unit has a cycle extender switch.
If not then odds are that there is a problem in the push button switch assembly as it does not sound like you have anything mechanical jamming the timer.

GE likes to keep everything technical a secret so the above is the best I can do.
