Tub developed a hole in the bottom. I will be checking on warranty replacement since it's supposed to have a 20 year warranty.

Other than replacement, any suggestions on repair?

Is the tub plastic or stainless?

How big is the hole?

Where is the hole? Is it on a flat surface and is the area around the hole flat?

Is it just a hole or is the tub also cracked?

It's on a flat surface of the "plastic" tub. It almost looks like a chip off right under the heating element, about 1/4 inch in diameter.

Thanks for asking.

If you have no luck with warranty just add to this post and I will give you what I think will work.
It is a jiggery pokery but should do the trick.

There is nothing I know of that will seal the hole without a a backer plate or perhaps a two plate sandwich and some sealant.

Whirlpool agreed to replace the tub. And will be replacing the coil.

IMPORTANT FYI: Apparently there is a recall on heating coils of GU1500 models.
