Model Number: F71C24RJB1 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
My Dish washer fills up and drains It hasn't been used in years I cleaned it out but now it doesn't work i don't hear anything moving but water when I think it should be cleaning it just hums should my bottom arm be turning all away around because it gets caught on the heating element it doesn't move at all am i missing a piece? does my garbage disposal have to be working in order for my dishwasher to work? Thanks for the help

Most of the time, you can remove the motor and turn the impeller, and the motor will run properly, some times you can turn the cooling fan(also part of the motor) with the same results. Or you'll need to replace the motor assembly. Are you sure the lower spray arm is catching on the heater element ? could it be, that theres something in the tub or between the walls that would block it from spinning ? Look and make sure the arm and nozzle assembly are not bent. No , your Garbage disposal should not need to be running in order for your dishwasher to run.
