Default dishwasher heater not working
Model Number: KUDC210s2   Brand: Kitchen Aid   Age: More than 10 years

From other posts, I see it could be a thermostat rather than heating element. Any suggestions for finding this out for sure?

How can I be sure the heater is bad? At $50, I want to be sure.

Hi Caldwell

According to the wiring diagram for your dishwasher it does not have any thermostats.
The cause of the problem could be:
a) The heat element
b) The energy saver switch or
c) The timer

You can check all of them for continuity and find the wrong one.

- The part number for the heater AP3102314

- The part number for the energy saver switch AP2919490

- The part number for the timer AP3124204

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KUDC210S2

Good luck.
Gene.
