Default diagnostic help-whirlpool dishwasher
Model Number: gu2700xtsq   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

All of the panel lights for the cycle selection are flashing, I am suspicious the main control panel is defective.
The washer has electricity , water, and worked as recently as last week; further making an electronic failure most likely.
If the control panel is the most likely culprit, I will order and replace. If some other area should be inspected please point me in that direction.
Thx, Tom

You seem to be missing the last digit in the model number.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for gu2700xtsq models | AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet for a XTSQ1

Try removing power from the unit for 5 to 10 minutes to see if it will reset.
Try the checking keypad routine.

The normal way to troubleshoot theses type of problem is to check the keypad output with a meter. If it is OK then replace the control board.
Still a bit of a crap shoot but your odds are better.

You may want to try the following.
Connector Cleaning / Checking
Unplug the unit
Open it up
Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board.
Clean the edge connector.
If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive.
Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here.
Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates.
Reconnect everything and give it a try.

Dennman // thanks for your help. I replaced the control board, though its beginning to look like that was not the problem. When I reviewed your troubleshooting - I unhooked the "p1" display panel connector - and turned power on, closed door and the drain pump started and ran.
Then based on the diagnostic guide, checked for resistance on the led panel and got no ohm reading for any of the functions using the sequence/polarity guide.
I think this points to the display panel not the control panel being bad. If so is there any way to repair or do I just replace the panel board.
There are 4 different ones listed, which is right for my white /model gu2700xtsq1?
Any other test before ordering?
Thanks, Tom Fagan

I find this strange. It could be you were using too low of a meter scale. These keyboards have diodes in them that you have to forward bias.
Try higher meter scales.

It does sound like the control panel is toast. The keys themselves cannot be fixed. The ribbon cable can be but you have to find out which track is open. Also fixing them is a very finicky job.

This I do not know, you will have to call them.
I do not work for AppliancePartsPros, I just spend some time on the forum trying to help a few people out. They will have more info on the parts than I do.
