Have just ordered pump seal replacement parts (AP631386) to rebuild a leaking seal. I have removed the pump /motor assembly from the dishwasher but how does the pump actually come apart? Does that plastic grid in pump suction eye unscrew, or pull out or what? Are there any instructions with the repair kit? Where can I find 'guidance' on dismantling the pump so that I don't totally destroy it? Thanks for any assistance

Use a butter knife to turn the plastic pump screen, turn clockwise. Then use pliers to take out the impeller, turn counterclockwise. Hold the motor fan blade with a screwdriver.
In the back of the pump housing, pry up the seal, then reach inside the pump to remove the seal.

Thanks for the help. I've learned there is one good thing about older age....before reaching for a bigger hammer I'm asking for help more often than not. Thanks again for the info and very quick response.
