My Frigidaire Gallery series dishwasher (FDB989GFC2) suddenly stopped getting water to the top sprayer. Detergent just drips down the inside wall undissolved. Changed out the feed water/solenoid, and all filters etc are clean. Motor, impellar (supply) and everything else are fine, including water pressure and temperatuer. Bottom stays filled below level of heating coil. Unit looks like new and I hate to throw it away if it is just a small minor problem. Could the motor be bad even though it seems to be running fine. Any other ideas. Thanks.

Unfortuantely if everything is checking ok, then it sounds like the motor/pump assembly is not spraying the water properly. We sell this as a repair kit. Here is the part number for what you will need. Part number: AP3160640

The motor seems to run fine when I power it up. Wouldn't this be an "all of nothing" deal? In other words, if it runs without noises it's not the problem? Or could it be running too slowly? Or is there a control that begins to send water up the tube that feeds the upper spray arm but then shuts off prematurely?

The motor has an impellar that sends the water to the spray arms. If the impellar is bad or broke, it will run, but will not send water to the spray arms. Hope this helps.

The impellar is in perfect shape.

Did you check the nozzle hose (number 32 on diagram) on the outside of the tub for clogging? Also check where it hooks up to the sump assembly for a blockage.
