Did not take long for the wheels/rollers to start falling off our GE lower rack. We have been zip-tying them back on, but this is a pain. Washes dishes well and quiet. Just bad rollers. New thought. Can we replace this rack with a better designed dishrack? (Looked at different models and their roller designs at Lowe's yesterday.. would one of these better designed racks fit?

Unless someone has actually done this I doubt that you will get the info you want.

You could take your rack to Lowes and compare it to the currently available units.

Is it the rollers themselves or the clips (Stud, Roller) (Item 703 in Section 4)
If just the clips I would just order a mess of them.

PS: Mine are also zip tied on but I do it when I replace the clip.
They seem to get brittle and break very easily.
