The dishes in the upper rack are not being cleaned. As a start I put a sponge in the upper rack to check the upper spray arm for water dispersion. The sponge was dry. I don't think the arm is moving at all. What would be my next steps? Is there some some of mechanism with teeth that rotates the arm and could that be broken? Could there be blockage somewhere in the spray arm or line leading up to the spray arm? What are the logical steps in tracking this down? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated as I do not want to hand wash dishes and the wife sure as heck won't do them! HELP!

A model number may help others help you.

The upper spray arms are run by water pressure.

Does the arm rotate easily manually?
Are the holes in the arm clean?

This is often caused by dirty filters in the pump or the unit not filling properly.

Most units fill to just under the heating element.
If it looks low add a couple quarts of hot water after the fill, just be careful to not overfill it.
If it now runs OK then the screen filter on the input side of the water valve is probably dirty.
Remove the valve from the machine and clean the screen filter.
Do not permanently remove the filter as it is there to keep crud out of the valve, which could hold the valve open and cause a flood.

I cannot find any info on the given model number, please check it.
I tried AppliancePartsPros and the Maytag site.

Model numbers are usually 3 or 4 letters followed by 3 or 4 numbers and often a couple more letters after that.

If it is a non US model then I will not be able to get anything on it.
