Hi Guys,
I was looking for a service manual to service this dishwasher. It seems to clean OK but not great. Top rack is spotty cleaning. I never see the top arms change position. They are full of hot water but not turning. Bottom turns.. Water is 135 degrees, arms are not plugged and I'm using Cascade like they recommend. Drains fine. Pump seems to be pumping judging from amount of water spraying at least. Water is about 1 inch up or so from bottom of washer.
There may be a cycle for arms?- so i was looking for manual to narrow down the possible problem. Can I find a trouble tree on the site somewhere?
Any help appreciated.

The pump is basically the same as yours. 31-9137 GE Profile Dishwasher Service Manual - ApplianceDigest.comYou will probably have to join the site to download the manual but it is a good site for info for the DIYer. Am lucky to even get this as GE likes to keep everything a secret. Check the filters, the sump and the chopper for debris. Be careful as there is often broken glass in the sump. I do no know the fill level measurement but they usually fill to just under the heating element. Often if it is a low fill issue, you can hear it the pump will growl because it is sucking in air. You can check this by adding a quart or two of hot water after each fill during a cycle. If it now washes OK then I would check the screen filter on the input side of the water valve for a partial plug. If dirty clean it. Do not permanently remove it from the valve as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood. Just be careful to not over fill it. |

Hi,
Thanks for the response.
Is there a cycle for the arms or are they supposed to all turn during the wash or rinse cycle? Is there any way to force cycle the top arms if they are in a cycle?

As far as I know they do not operate independently.
