Model Number: JDB1100AWS Brand: Jenn-Air Age: 1 - 5 years
Having issues with our dishwasher controls, first it started that you had to press "Start" first to allow you to select the wash mode, now it won't let us select "Normal" at all, and occasionally some other wash modes will not work either. When I power cycle the unit, most everything seems to work except the Normal still does not work. Because power loss resets it, I'm thinking it is the control board and not the keypad, any way to know for sure?
I've removed the cover, visually inspected the control board and cleaned the keypad connector. No improvement. Thank you for any help! Ads By Google Related Models |

Hear are your parts
Replacement parts for JDB1100AWS models | AppliancePartsPros.com Here is the tech sheet, see the attachment. It gives how to check the keypad with a meter. I do agree with you that it sounds more like a control board problem. Especially if the other keys that stopped working were not on the same common wire/track as the normal key. These things are always a bit of a crap shoot but checking the keypad does improve your odds of getting the correct part. If you do check the keypad then AppliancePartsPros is a good place to order from as I think they will allow you to return the control board if it does not fix your problem. See their return policy. Thanks so for the help and the repair sheet! I finally got around to taking it apart and testing the buttons. It does seem that the control panel is faulty, particularly the Normal button has continuity all the time. I'm guessing that it is stuck/damaged and is to blame for Start/Cancel flakiness and the Sanitize not working, as those share a common wire. I'll order it and see how it goes.
Edit: Just wanted to follow up, received the panel from AppliancePartsPros.com and installed. All fixed! Thanks again for the help! Here's the image of the old panel with the overlay removed. It appears the button shorted and fried, it's not rust. ![]() Last edited by mavantix : 02-08-2011 at 06:38 PM. Reason: Add more info |

Which cover? I was referring to the inside cover of the front door (the part with the soap dispenser), which removes with 10 visible torx screws. The two long ones hold the front of the door on, so to remove that, it slides up. The control board is held down with three hex screws, one is the cover to it's box which must be removed to disconnect cables. Lastly the control panel which I replaced is held in place with three hex screws located under the white foam insulation.
