My GE Profile Dishwasher is not dissolving soap. I checked that the soap container opens properly but the after the cylce is over we see soap undissolved at the bootom. I verfied the following so far: 1) Water is coming 2) Water is hot 3) The spray arms seem to be working.
Can someone please point me what to check next ?
Thank You Kevin

Here are your parts. Your model number seems to be missing several digits but all the units in the series should be a pretty close match. Replacement parts for PDW7300J models | AppliancePartsPros.comProbably the easiest thing to start with is the fill level. Most units fill to just under the heating element. After each fill add a couple quarts of hot water. Just be careful no not overfill it. If it now runs OK odds are that the filter screen on the input side of the water valve is partially clogged. Remove the valve and clean the screen. Do not permanently remove the screen from the valve as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold the valve open and cause a flood. Note: Often with low fill the unit will sound louder because the pump is sucking in air. Next remove the spray arm and check that it and the pump are clear of debris. Also check the spray holes on the other spray arms. Check/clean the filter screen. Check in the sump (Item 505 in Section 5) for debris or something wrapped around the chopper. Be careful here as often there is broken glass in the sump. |

Denman -- You were absolutely right. I filled the dishwasher manually with 2 quarts of water below the heating elements level and found that the soap does dissolve in that case.
I am not clear how to remove the valve and clean it. Can you please tell me the location of the valve and how to open it?
My Model #PDW7300J10BB
Thank You Kevin

Valve is Item 744 in Section 2. Looks like itis mounted on the left side probably behind the kick plate.
Shut off the water supply. Get a shallow pan etc. that will fit under it. Loosen the input side fitting till is starts dripping. When your pan is full tighten the fitting till it stops dripping. Empty your pan. You will probably have to do this several times but it will reduce the amount of water getting onto the floor. Remove the valve from the machine With luck you will not have to take the valve apart. Clean the screen with water and a toothbrush. |

Denman -- My dishwasher's left side is completely closed by kitchen cabinet. Not sure how to move the dishwasher out and view the left side. I can see the hot water piple going down the kitchen cabinet into the dishwasher. I can't see anything else. Do you mean the valve ( part # 744) is between the space of kitchen cabinet wall and the dishwasher left wall? Sounds like a herculean task to get to it.
Thanks Kev

I am not 100% sure where it is.
Have you removed the kick plate at the front of the unit so that you can see under it?
That is where they usually are because you need room to hook up the water line when installing it. |
