The drying cycle is not working as the dishes come out wet. The drying light comes on after the wash cycle and stays on for the appropriate time. My question is... does the heating element ONLY come on during the drying cycle, or should it also come on during the Hi Temp wash cycle? IF it is supposed to come on during both cycles, then I'm inclined to think the element is bad. If it is only supposed to come on during the drying cycle, then I need to continue troubleshooting.

One other question... I read a link on testing the heating element with a multitester. Once the wires are disconnected from the bottom, can the test be done from the 2 ends of the element that are in the tub, or does it have to be done where the wires attach at the bottom? It's gonna be tough to get a multitester on the bottom connectors without pulling out and tipping the dishwasher.

Yes, your heating element should come on in the Hi Temp wash cycle, unless your water temperature is already hot(140 to 150 dgrs.)

It's alway best and more accurate to circuit test any component, at the component terminals and with at least one wire disconnected, to eliminate a false reading and test the complete circuit.

Sometimes it tough, but do it right the first time, is a pretty good mantra, when you're working.
