I have replaced the dogs in the agitator, inspected both the spline on the drive shaft and in the lower agitator which look good. I have run the washer (dry) with only the drive shaft, with the lower agitator in place, and with the complete agitator and auger in place and all action appears normal. I then filled the washer anr ran it with no load and action appears normal, water splashes as expected, the agitator rotates in a back and forth motion and the auger is free in a clockwise direction and rotates in a counter clockwise direction. NO NOISE WAS OBSERVED DURING THESE TESTS. I added an extra small load and the noise returned. It sounds to me like a gear jumping but I can't verify that at this time. How do I proceed from here? Could this be caused by the clutch assemble or is it in the transmission? Thanks for your help.
