Model Number: GU2400XTPQ7 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner III model # GU2400XTPQ7. After running it thru its cycle last evening the clean light began blinking rapidly. I discovered upon internet search the solution to resetting the keypad. I then started the dishwasher in its normal wash cycle. The unit filled with water and began heating it and that was all that happened over the next 80+ minutes of the cycle until the remaing water drained from the tub. Can anyone help with suggestions for troubleshooting ?? Thanks in advance !!

Bensons, Did the clean light start flashing again, after the last cycle ? Did you notice any other lights flashing during the cycle ? At this point, indications are , you have a loose connection between the touchpad assembly or a bad touchpad. Part number: AP3774276 You may want to access the controls, and check the ribbon connection where the ribbon attaches to the control board for loose and possibly dirt or moisture, clean the end of the ribbon and re insert it to the control board connection and test run the unit again. Good Luck,

Joe - The clean light did not blink at the end of the cycle because I pressed the cancel button. It appeared stuck in a middle cycle where nothing was happening even as the timer counted down. After I hit cancel it went to 2min on the timer, emptied the water and shut off.
I will check your suggestions for the control panel - Thanks !! Jim |

Thanks for the information, I'm still sure you'll find a problem in the touchpad assembly. I hope the drying out, cleaning and reseating the ribbon works for you. If not, you've got the part number to order.

Joe - I ordered the consol part as you suggested, installed it and started the dishwasher. As it had done in the past it loaded with water, heated it and then failed to proceed any further even thought the timer counted down. When it was apparent it would not finish the cycle I canceled it and it entered its 2 minute cycle and stopped. Any possible suggestions - thanks in advance for your help !! Jim

Are you sure that the correct type and amount of detergent was used ? Start the dishwasher( NO Detergent) let it fill and run a few minutes and check the water for suds , foam. Do you have access to a multimeter ? we will need to run resistance checks at the control board for your heater and sensor. You will be testing for resistance on the wires or pins, NOT the control board terminals or pins. At connector P15 Pin 1 to Pin 3 you should have approximately 50,000 ohms at room temperature(with the connector unplugged from the control board). At terminal P3 and terminal P9, across the two wires(unplugged from the control board) you should read 10 to 30 ohms resistance, at room temperature. If your resistance checks are proper (+/- 10%) you will need a control board. If you don't have the resistance readings, we'll be able to direct you to the other tests you'll need to make. Hope to hear from you soon,

Jim, This is gonna be rough ... Going with what you've told us and what we've done, so far. We can only guess, I'd be more positive with meter tests but... I would reccomend a new sensor located in the pump, and or control board. Part number: AP4410881 Part number: AP4309110 The sensor could be feeding false information to the control board. The control board is not accepting proper information from the sensor. You'll need to decide where to start first .
