Exclamation will not drain or reset
Model Number: SHU5306UC/U06FD7905   Brand: Bosch   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
Will not drain completely; will not reset to drain even though CL shows. Also, it is now showing 2H and takes forever to cycle through. Have taken out and apart, cleaned all parts and filters; run vinegar through as suggested by Bosch - no improvement. Any help will be VERY appreciated.

Default How to remove the drain pump by yourself?

I have had a Bosch dishwasher for 8 years. Within the first year the drain pump was replace. In June 2007 I paid over $200 to have the control board replaced. If the unit is not draining when you over ride the panel then I suspect it is the drain pump. If the unit always starts at 2 hours every time you use it, it could be the panel. There is a way to test the panel by using the buttons. I saw it on a website, I just do not have it in front of me. You can search under Bosch dishwasher repair.

I am in the process of change the drain pump on my unit. Problem is Bosch will not provide any service information. I have removed the unit and have it turned over. I have zero clue on how to remove the housing in order to get to the guts of the system. Any assistance is appreciated.

rhk56,

What is the complete model number of the dishwasher?

What is wrong with your dishwasher and why did you decide the problem is a bad drain pump?

Gene.

Bosch SHU5315UC 11

The dishwasher had a loud humming coming from the drain pump. The unit was stuck on 39 minutes for some time, as we had started it and left the house, to return a couple of hours later. I pulled the dishwasher out and disconnected the water exhaust hose. I blew into it and it made bubbles in the water left in the unit. I felt that it must be the drain pump. Another reason why is becasue Bosch does not have a food disposal in the unit like a Whirlpool could have. Though we are careful to rinse the dishes, stuff still gets in the unit. I pulled off the bottom, but felt that I was over my head. I called in for a repair. If the quote is over $200 to replace the drain pump, then I am going to buy a Whirlpool for around $375 and cut my losses on the Bosch.

Bosch does not use any kind of food grinders to eliminate an excessive noises. Instead there are three levels of screens completely protected both pumps. Consumer has to maintain them clean as recommended in the Use and Care book.

I would recommend to perform the troubleshooting as described in one of our previous posts: bosch dishwasher troubleshoot manual because I'm not sure the problem is a bad drain pump.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Bosch dishwasher Model SHU5315 UC/11 (FD 8001-8003)

Gene.
